Ponta Delgada
Ponta Delgada counsel has a total area of 231,89 km2, situated in the south west of São Miguel Island with a population of approximately 66 thousand habitants.
The surface of this mountainous council makes part the massif of “Sete Cidades” with 856 meters. Also located on this massif are the famous seven city lagoons. The coast line is mainly marked by cliffs, pprecipice and some black sandy beaches.
The weather, as in the rest of the Azores Islands, is warm and mild, with the average annual temperature oscillating between 14 to 25 centigrade degrees.
